Lenovo/AMD Survey Finds SMBs Take Technology Risks

A survey by Lenovo and AMD reveals resource-and-cash-strapped small businesses are missing simple cost saving options while overworking employees and taking technology risks that include illegally using open WiFi networks and saving critical business files on USB thumb drives. The savings many businesses in the survey miss include the use of voice-over-Internet-protocol (VoIP) telephone/videophone services such as Vonage, Skype, and Googlevoice and many small business communications services based on these services. more 

Kodak Announces Wireless Printer for BlackBerry and iPhone

Kodak has announced an all-in-one printer, the 6150 AiO, that prints files sent wirelessly from a BlackBerry, iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. The printer has scanning, faxing, and copying capabilities and uses a built-in 802.11n WiFi capability to receive files from mobile devices. more

Starbucks Announces Free WiFi

Starbucks has announced free, one-click, unlimited WiFi at all company-owned Starbucks stores in the United States starting July 1. No Starbucks Card is required, no username or password is needed, and the previous two-hour usage per day restriction is being removed. more
